How to process compound fertilizer pellets using disc granulator?

How to produce fertilizer granules with pan pelleting machine?

From the first email of Pablo customer, we learned that he want to get a granulator machine with 15 RPM 50 HZ 40 HP motor and the machine material is carbon steel or stain Steel. So, This machine is more resource-saving than other fertilizer granulators, and the use time will increase. But how does this disc pelleting machine work?

When the pan works, the raw materials in it can rotate due to gravity. In addition, with the function of the spraying device, the compound fertilizer powder will agglomerate together and become balls. And the size of the ball formed will be affected by the following three aspects.

How to control the fertilizer size using disc pelletizer?

  1. The first is the raw materials moisture content. If the water content is so high, the raw materials are easier to clump together, so the fertilizer particles you get will be bigger. Conversely, if the raw materials are relatively dry, then the compound fertilizer pellets you get are relatively small.
  2. The second factor is the installation angle of the disc granulator. Generally, the larger the angle of inclination, the faster the speed of the disc, and the smaller the particles formed. Therefore, in order to obtain a suitable size of fertilizer particles, we recommend an installation angle of 35°-55°.
  3. The third aspect is the granulation time. As the granulation time becomes longer, the larger the fertilizer granules you process. However, you can clearly see the entire granulation process using the disc granulator. When you find that the size of the fertilizer particles is what you want, you can turn off the machine.

What are the raw material requirements of the disc granulation machine?

The disc pelletizer uses the wet granulation technology, the raw materials moisture content should be 30%-40%. If your raw materials are so dry, you should add some water or adhesive into it. But if your organic or compound fertilizer materials are so wet, you need use a dewatering press machine to reduce moisture before granulation.

And the pan granulation machine can also be used in organic fertilizer pellets production line. So, you can use composted animal manure, fermented biogas, sugar mill and tea factory reduces, NPK powder fertilizer as raw materials. Of course, other suitable powder matter can also be granulated into pellets using disc pelleting machine. For example, one of our United States customer use the UIexite and sulfuric acid to make pellets for industry.
